Assam government has decided to convert Nehru and Sarusajai stadiums in Guwahati into temporary Coronavirus hospitals.
“Sarusajai stadium in Guwahati will be used to quarantine at least 1,000 people. Nehru stadium will also be used for the same,” said health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Meanwhile, IDSP hospital at Guwahati’s Kalapahar, Model Hospital at Singimari, Government Ayurvedic College Hospital will be used for Coronavirus treatment.
The minister also inspected Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati, where 150 beds are earmarked for COVID19 patients.
The hospital shall remain closed for all except patients from gynecology & associated depts.
