In an accident near Paltan Bazar at Guwahati, A youth was dead on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries after a water tanker rammed into his bike on March 15 night.
Speaking to Media the Traffic in-charge of Paltan Bazar Police Station said, “Two youths were traveling on their scooty when a water tanker hit them from behind.”
The incident occurred near Hotel Rajmahal in Paltan Bazar.
The deceased have been identified Dhurva Kalita (29) of Ujjal Nagar in Dhirenpara and Nilotpal Nath, aged around 28 years and a resident of Fatasil Ambari.
The water tanker bearing registration number AS-01-CC-7528 coming from the opposite side mowed them down.
Meanwhile, the truck driver managed to flee from the spot and the police are trying to contact the owner of the truck to trace him down.
