The Assam Rifles on Friday disposed of two World War-II era bombs in Tengnoupal district of Manipur on February 21 last.

Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) disposed off the 2 World War-II bombs through demolition.

It may be mentioned here that the unexploded shell and mortar bomb of World War–II origin were recovered during excavation work undertaken for expansion of the National Highway-102 within the Tengnoupal police headquarters premises and Loisi village, respectively.

As an aid to the civil administration, the Tengnoupal battalion of the AR accepted the request received from police authorities and initiated the disposal of the bombs. The police authorities of Tengnoupal expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for rendering significant assistance in removing the aged explosives.
