Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi said on February 20 that the centre should accept the report submitted by the Assam Accord’s Clause VI committee.

He was taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Thursday for a checkup up.

Gogoi said, “It are going to be clear that the central government is least bothered about Assam, if it doesn’t accept the Clause VI committee’s report within March 15.”

As per reports, although the report was signed by the committee on February 10, the Centre is unlikely to simply accept some recommendations of the high-level committee on Assam Accord’s Clause 6.

It is to be mentioned that social activist Medha Patkar along side social activist and Magsaysay Award winner Sandeep Pandey visited Akhil Gogoi at the Central Jail in Guwahati on February 19.
