A youth died of suffocation after a massive fire broke out in their building located at Dwaraka Nagar on February 19. This is the third such incident in the city.
Biswajit Barman (35) was identified as the victim who was in an intoxicated state when the fire broke out in the building. The started from the first floor of the building but later spread in other parts of the building.
After talking to the locals it was known that the deceased parent stayed on the first floor and by the time they could reach the spot at the ground floor and broke open the door it was claimed that 80 percent of the body was burned along with the furniture of the room.
For further investigation, the deceased body was sent to Guwahati Medical College Hospital for Post-mortem
