In an unpleasant incident, a youth has been arrested by Pathsala police for allegedly killing his friend at Pathsala, Barpeta.
The convict’s name was identified as Rajibul Ali and he is 22 years old.
After killing his friend with an axe, to cover his crime he buried the victim’s body at Titka Village near Pathsala ITI.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Abbas Ali, who was the son of Paras Ali of Pub-Tapabari under Barpeta district.
After his arrest confessed to the crime on Monday, say police. The reason he told the police he had an affair with the victim’s wife.
Rajibul Ali killed his friend on Sunday night and he buried the body near the area.
After receiving a complaint, the Pathsala police carried out an investigation and were able to arrest the culprit.
The police have registered a case (No 98/2020) under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
The post-mortem of the body was done at Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital in Barpeta town.
