Five effective grenade explosions — three in Dibrugarh and one in Charaideo districts — rocked Assam on Sunday morning as India celebrated Republic Day, police said.

In Dibrugarh district, an explosion passed off at Graham Bazar and any other beside a gurudwara on A T Road, both underneath Dibrugarh police station.

Another blast occur in front of a store at Tiyakghat Tiniali region near Sonari in Assam’s Charaideo district at around 8 am.

Top police officers and different security personnel rushed to the spot and accrued splinter.

Locals stated that bike-borne suspected militants had lobbed a grenade and fled from the location.

Another explosion rocked the oil metropolis of Duliajan in Dibrugarh whose info are still awaited, police stated.

“We rushed to the spot while we heard the sound of the explosion. Some people said that bike-borne miscreants had lobbed a grenade and fled from the location,” said a local villager.
