A group of students protested against the Centre’s move to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), and the National Population Register (NPR) at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
According to reports, a total of 26 students went to see the first one-day international (ODI)- India against Australia.
The students wearing white t-shirts held banners that read ‘No CAA’, ‘No NPR’ and ‘NO NRC’, however, they said that they will not do anything apart from silently displaying their message regarding the citizenship issue.
The students were seen sitting in the Vijay Merchant Pavilion side.
Apparently crowds sitting around them enthusiastically start chanting “Modi! Modi!”. Later they were asked to leave before the end of Indian innings.
As for the match, Australia won by 10 wickets with an unbelievable run chase from Aaron Finch and David Warner.
